I'm Away 01:45
I’m Away In the fullness of time I washed my hands and I Cleaned myself up and I Changed my plans I’m away, I’m away All the illness, the rack And the ruin me now Well it’s here to stay and I’m Leaving town I’m away, I’m away All the indolence down at the dome I took a five figure number I called it a home You don’t know how lucky you are Till you’re the tattooed king And queen at the bar Invisible man Got broke and banned Invisible man You’ve been dieting

Into the Trees Let’s go walking into the trees Come a lolling into the trees Have your old fashioned way with me There’s a little whisper and it’s on the breeze Come a lolling into the trees You never know dear What becomes of us there Don’t you be afraid In the trees In the forrest where the forrest falls Everything is the same as before Should you dare or should you not Take a little old short cut Come a lolling into the trees Oh it’s you dear I want to take you there Only you dear There ain’t nothing I can do but say to you Come on down Come on down Come on down You can sleep wherever you fall You can sleep while you’re still young In that frozen familiar repose There’s a little whisper and it’s all yours Come a lolling Into the trees Into the trees Into the trees

Gentle as she Goes You snuck up on me and We took off our wings and We made something That was built for two I know that you meant it I sure didn't mind and At the time We were both talking true Now I don't know that I loved you As well as I could I was loving you for good It was never an easy road We had our share of trouble But we had something special That's what people knew We always seemed to work it out We were fierce then humble Then one day babe you told me You were shooting through I will wait right here with my best intention I will set my jaw I will keep my good face on And my faith in you So darlin' you can have your wings Let them take you where you go Where you go You can take a piece of me too See what the days bring See what the time holds And what the days before Grow to meant to you I will wait right here With my best intention I will set my jaw I will keep my good face on And my faith in you Gentle as she goes

Somewhere by Now Honey I'm tired of being in fashion Sick of going out Talking and not listening Standing in the crowd These people make me lonely These drugs make me a prick I'm so tall and loud and funny that I can't hear the music Ain't you gotta be somewhere by now Ain't you gotta be somewhere by now Ain't you gotta be somewhere else I'm worried about my parents Aching for my kids Longing for a conversation that's gonna mean something Tomorrow when our heads are full of all that molten broken rock Tomorrow when the daylight breaks and just don't let up Ain't you gotta be somewhere by now Ain't you gotta be somewhere by now Ain't you gotta be somewhere else I'm sick of all the hurry It's here that I step off No-one's gonna notice in the uber groovy mob I'm gonna find a place somewhere and shut the hell up I'm taking all my bacon and I'm climbing from the trough Ain't you gotta be somewhere by now Ain't you gotta be somewhere by now Ain't you gotta be somewhere else

The Change 03:33
The Change It was the greatest show on earth It was the main event So many people there was No one left to watch it All the oblivious sons The heirs to oblivion They are the fortunate ones And they wait for the change to come In the middle of the show There was a word to tell To show that we’d been told But then nobody said it Because Oh The change, the change had come Oh the change, the change had come All the oblivious sons The heirs to oblivion They are the fortunate ones And they wait for the change to come Because Oh The change, the change had come Oh the change, the change had come

Any Day 05:22
Any Day Know the pretty thing hold it close to you All the magic, wonderous and the true All the lonely roads Right there for you All the suffering Is yours to choose There are youthful dreams in the eyes of the old So keep your precious hold on everything You're never gonna know All the lonely roads Will be lonely anyway The soothed soul could be yours Any day

about

This album was recorded in five separate studios with five different combinations of players and engineers over a period of twelve months. The arrangements go from a standard four-piece band to what was referred to as a tiny orchestra at the time (piano accordion, violin, tenor ukulele). There are also solo recordings and some production mastery from J Walker and Lloyd Barrett. All of it adheres to an unsettling stripped back, open aired palette.
